Questions from Laleelovesbeauty:
- Why did you start a blog?
Starting this blog has been something I’ve planned to do for years now, but only mustered up the courage to do so recently. Not many of my friends are as into beauty and skincare and as I am… I try not to bore them in conversation because I could literally talk about these topics for hours. Having this blog allows me to be in constant connection to those who loves beauty and skincare as much as I do!
- What’s the #1 thing on you bucket list?
There are many things I’d like to do before I “kick the bucket,” as the saying goes, but I’ve never made an official bucket list. Something I’d love to accomplish is to see all the seven wonders of the natural world. These include: Mount Everest, Grand Canyon, Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) , Harbor of Rio de Janeiro, Great Barrier Reef, Paricutin Volcano, and Victoria Falls. Probably very ambitious, but what magnificent sights to see!
- What’s your favorite makeup product?
At the moment, I’m all about that bronzer life! My two favorites are Give Me Sun from MAC, and the Lowlight Sculpting Perfector Pressed shade in the Lowlight/ Highlight Perfecting Palette Pressed from BECCA. Give Me Sun is a warm- tone shade, perfect for bringing natural color and warmth to the face. The Lowlight bronzer is a cool- tone shade, ideal for contouring.
- Describe your fashion style
Comfy, with an edgy twist. When it comes to my style, comfort is my top priority. I used to believe in the saying,”beauty is pain,” but how can you truly enjoy yourself on a night out if you can’t walk in your heels or be able to breathe in a skin-tight outfit? There are definitely ways to make a an outfit comfortable, but still look fashionable… without wearing a sweatshirt and leggings everyday.
- How are you ringing in the New Year?
Being that this post is a tad late, the New Year has already come upon us, lol. But I spent the first half of the night with my family, and the second half with my boyfriend’s family. In Hawaii, celebrating the New Year is a huuuuge deal; fireworks galore!
- What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Inconsideration. Whether that be of feelings, time, space, etc. It just annoys me when people only think of themselves and have no regard for others.
- What is your biggest accomplishment?
One of the things that I am most proud of finishing first in a triathlon. Although not achieved by myself, this was an incredible team effort; I competed with two friends. One Friday night a few friends and I were drinking at a bar and somehow ended up on the topic of triathlons. This was when we realized we had enough people present to create a team… a swimmer, cyclist, and a runner (me). Although none of us trained specifically for this particular race, all three of us exercised on a regular basis within the leg we’d be competing in. We drunkenly decided, and went through with, signing- up for the Tinman Triathlon: a 750M swim, 40K bike, and 10K run. From that night, we had less than 2 weeks to prepare. Meant to be just for fun, we soon realized that we might actually be the team to beat when the day of the race came! After the swim we were in the top 3, our cyclist brought us to the lead (and a huge lead at that), which I was able to hold through the finish! With most races, my only goal is to finish within a certain time. Never do I ever dream to finish in first place! This triathlon is definitely something I will always remember and be proud of.
- If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be?
As mentioned in question 2, I’d like to see the 7 wonders of the natural world. But aside from that, I’ve really been wanting to travel to Japan!
- What’s your favorite category to blog about?
I can surely admit that I am a skincare junkie. Being that I work in the sun, taking care of my skin is essential. I love trying and researching about new products, and blogging is a great resource to find unknown gems. Like I mentioned earlier, I could probably talk about skincare for hours on end!
- Tell us something we wouldn’t know about you
Not sure if I mentioned before on my blog, but I have a twin sister, Hartley. We’re identical, but we’ve never thought that we looked alike… although many think that we do, lol. When we were little we looked very similar, but as we grew up we developed different features that you would be able to easily tell us apart. But I guess the word “easily” could be used loosely, because some still argue that it is not an easy task to differentiate us.
